Viking Fest comes to Whitestown
WHITESTOWN, Ind. (WISH) — You can live like a Viking this weekend in Whitestown.
The 9th annual Whitestown Viking Fest starts Friday and features three days of live reenactments, fire twirling, artisans selling their wares, food and mead, and many other Viking favorites — including a unique Keg Toss event.
On Thursday, Bethany Hernandez, events coordinator with Whitestown Parks and Rec, joined Daybreak to talk about the event.
Hernandez says Viking Fest originated at a local brewery before the town took it over, and it has grown every year since.
“Viking Fest is our biggest festival of the year. A ton of Vikings come out from all over the Midwest.”
