DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The U.S. military said it ended its latest round of airstrikes targeting Iran as the nations vie for control of the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. military’s Central Command said it targeted “Iranian military command centers, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites and air defense systems.”
The statement added that “American forces remain postured and prepared to hold Iran accountable for unwarranted aggression toward civilian mariners seeking to freely and openly transit the strait.”
The airstrikes came as the British military reported yet another tanker came under attack in the strait. Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard claimed the attacks on two ships early Tuesday.
