Officials voice opposition to report on Kaaterskill Falls
A report released by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is causing residents and officials in Hunter to speak out. The report was done by consultant groups to address issues from high visitor use, like parking, traffic and crowding on the trails. One of the recommendations is to only allow 1,000 people a day into the Falls, which Hunter Town Supervisor Sean Mahoney is against.
