Wilmington shots fired investigation underway after late-night gunfire call

Gunfire reported late Thursday leaves shell casings but no victims in city neighborhood

WILMINGTON, DE – A late-night report of gunfire brought Delaware State Police to a Wilmington roadway where investigators found evidence of shots fired but no victims or damage, according to officials.

Troopers responded at approximately 11:40 p.m. Thursday to the 4800 block of Washington Street Extension after receiving a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located multiple spent shell casings scattered in the area. No injuries or property damage were reported at the scene.
