Maryland man cashes another top prize after Bonus Match 5 ticket hits big
BALTIMORE, Md. — A Waldorf man who already celebrated a major Maryland Lottery win earlier this year is back with another, claiming a second $50,000 prize after a Bonus Match 5 ticket turned into another payday.
The Charles County resident claimed the $50,000 top prize Thursday at Maryland Lottery headquarters after matching all five winning numbers in the July 17 Bonus Match 5 drawing.
Lottery officials said the winner previously claimed a $50,000 second-chance prize earlier this year, making this his second $50,000 prize of 2026.
The longtime lottery player said he has been playing for more than 20 years and typically buys Multi-Match tickets, but occasionally tries Bonus Match 5 and scratch-offs.
After the drawing, he scanned his Quick Pick ticket and received a message that read, “Winner. See Retailer.”
