Authorities identified three people Friday who died over the last week in San Diego County traffic collisions.
The most recent of the roadway fatalities took place early Wednesday on a Mission Valley freeway connector, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
Shortly before 2 a.m., 48-year-old Terry Thrush of San Diego was behind the wheel of a sedan that veered out of a traffic lane and struck a concrete barrier on the ramp from northbound Interstate 805 to eastbound Interstate 8, the county agency reported.
Thrush was ejected from the car and died at the site of the crash.
On Feb.14, a collision on a highway in Poway fatally injured a young San Diego woman. Sherilynne Hammer, 19, was riding in a sedan that collided with an SUV on state Route 67 at Rio Maria Road about 11:25 p.m., the medical examiner reported.
Hammer died before paramedics could take her to a hospital.
On Feb. 13, a 49-year-old motorist was killed in a crash in a neighborhood near Sweetwater Reservoir, according to the county agency.
Gale Skinner of Spring Valley was traveling through the La Presa area on Jamacha Boulevard about 10:30 p.m. when the car he was driving collided with an SUV that had just been involved in another wreck near San Diego Street. Skinner wound up trapped in his vehicle and died at the scene.
