US Navy in San Diego trains dolphins, sea lions for underwater detection

The U.S. Navy's Marine Mammal Program in San Diego trains bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions to find underwater objects such as mines and explosives. The program has been in operation for decades and has been declassified since the early 1990s.
