Treasury secretary ‘optimistic’ on gas prices

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said he was “optimistic” that the price of gasoline will fall over the summer driving season, heading back to $3 a gallon.

Bessent said the lower prices will depend on how negotiations to end the war progress over the coming days.

He also warned gas stations that the administration will keep an eye on them to make sure they are lowering prices if oil heads lower.
