A 53-year-old motorist died Sunday night in a car crash in Rancho Santa Fe, authorities said Monday.
Fred Liu of San Diego was traveling along Del Dios Highway when the sedan he was driving collided with an SUV at Luna De Miel about 9 p.m., according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office and California Highway Patrol.
Liu died at the scene of the crash. No other injuries were reported.
A SigAlert was issued after 10 p.m., shutting down Del Dios in both directions. The road was reopened shortly before midnight.
