Six-foot-tall bird spotted roaming Owings and Chesapeake Beach while animal control works to bring her home
PRINCE FREDERICK, MD — A 6-foot-tall runaway emu has turned into one of Calvert County’s most unusual missing animals after wandering away from home and showing up in neighborhoods across the northern part of the county.
The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office said Bonnie, an approximately 200-pound emu, has recently been spotted in the Owings and Chesapeake Beach areas.
Animal Control officers are working to safely capture Bonnie and return her home.
