INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Colts are expected to start rookie quarterback Riley Leonard on Sunday against the Houston Texans, according to ESPN Senior NFL Reporter Jeremy Fowler.
Philip Rivers started the last three games for the Colts, who have lost six in a row and will miss the playoffs after starting the season with a record of 8-2.
Leonard has appeared in four games for Indianapolis this season, and is 18-for-33 passing for 145 yards with two interceptions. He played three seasons at Duke and a fourth at Notre Dame and was selected by the Colts in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft.
The Colts head to Houston on the heels of Sunday’s 23-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Kickoff for Sunday’s game is set for 1 p.m. EST.
