Reports: IU’s Curt Cignetti signed to new contract worth over $13 million annually

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — IU head coach Curt Cignetti has been signed to a new contract worth $13.2 million annually, per reports.

In his two seasons with the Hoosiers, Cignetti has led IU to historic levels of success. IU won its first football national championship in school history in the 2025 season. In both seasons Cignetti has been at IU, the team has set the program record for wins in a single season.

Cignetti has a record of 27-2 at IU.

He has been recognized at the national level as well, winning numerous coach of the year awards, including becoming the first coach to win the AP coach of the year award two years in a row.

Cignetti and the Hoosiers are scheduled to start the 2026 season on Saturday, September 5 at home against North Texas.
