BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — 7-foot-2 center Samet Yiğitoğlu has reportedly committed to IU.
Yiğitoğlu played two seasons at SMU. He averaged 10.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game last season. He shot 62.8% from the floor, but just 49.5% from the free throw line. Yiğitoğlu scored in double figures in 24 of 34 games last season.
Yiğitoğlu is the fourth transfer commitment IU has picked up in the last two days, and is the first center that IU has landed. He joins Notre Dame transfer guard Markus Burton, Duke transfer guard/forward Darren Harris, and Georgia Tech transfer guard Jaeden Mustaf.
Yiğitoğlu is from Istanbul, Turkey and he played for Turkey in the 2023 FIBA U20 European Championship.
