Next steps for Indianapolis City Market redevelopment

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Visible construction will begin this summer at the Indianapolis City Market. This is the first phase of the Indianapolis City Market redevelopment project, and will focus on Whistler Plaza.

The redevelopment plan will create a public space that incorporates historic elements underneath the plaza. The project will also provide new green space, seating, and pedestrian amenities.

Construction on the plaza is currently happening underground, but upcoming work will cause parking spots along Delaware and Market Street to close.

Phase two of the redevelopment plan will focus on restoring the reopening the Market House proper. The house will move to a sustainable owner/operator model.
