Marion woman dies after crashing into back of semitruck

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — A Marion woman died Wednesday after crashing into the back of a semitruck in Lancaster Township.

According to a press release from the Huntington County coroner, at around 5 p.m. Wednesday, 43-year-old Kaley Barnes was driving on State Road 9 when she crashed into the back of a semitruck that was turning onto County Road 100 South. That’s in a rural area about a 10-minute drive south of the city of Huntington in northwest Indiana.

The release said after the collision, Barnes was pinned under the semitruck and sustained multiple blunt impact injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner says that Barnes’ death was ruled an accident.
