Man arrested in Indianapolis shooting over missing marijuana

IMPD makes Saturday shooting arrest

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has arrested 29-year-old Anthony Gavarrete for his alleged involvement in a shooting that happened just after 2 p.m. on Saturday that left one man injured.

When police arrived on scene near Gimber Drive, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his foot. With multiple witnesses at the scene, officers learned that Gavarrete and the man were arguing over missing marijuana.

A news release from IMPD did not include the man’s name.

While officers and detectives were still investigating the shooting, several 911 callers reported a truck matching the description of Gavarrete’s, driving recklessly, striking another vehicle on Troy Avenue on the southeast side.
