INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A piece of LGBTQ history for the state of Indiana has been ripped away at its roots from Monument Circle.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the Indiana State Police tracked down security footage showing four so-far unidentified males walking around 12:40 a.m. July 16 in Monument Circle. 

Two of the men stopped to inspect the Indiana historical marker and then attacked it, eventually tearing it off the signpost. Police found the plaque lying on the ground.
