Man wanted for deadly Union City shooting as search intensifies
UNION CITY, N.J. — A man is now the focus of a manhunt following a fatal shooting that left a North Bergen resident dead in the early morning hours.
The violence unfolded just after 1:50 a.m. on Monday, March 23 near Bergenline Avenue and 44th Street, where police responded to reports of an altercation and gunfire.
When officers arrived, they found a 42-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Now, investigators are searching for Luis Marin, 57, of North Bergen, who has been charged in connection with the killing.
Authorities have filed multiple charges against Marin, including murder and weapons offenses.
Officials are urging the public not to approach him.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office or submit an anonymous tip.
The investigation remains ongoing.
