New public safety cameras installed in downtown Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s downtown district on Wednesday said it’s added public safety cameras at two intersections to assist with monitoring and crime prevention.

The cameras, which were funded by the Downtown Indy Alliance, are now operational at the intersections of East Washington and Alabama streets, and East Washington and Pennsylvania streets. The nonprofit alliance, formerly Downtown Indy Inc., tries to drive development and manage urban services downtown.
