INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — For one Iranian-American woman living in Indiana, the rising tensions in the Middle East are deeply personal with family members living in Iran.

The woman News 8 interviewed asked we hide her identity but wanted to share her story.

She said the war in Iran isn’t just something she sees in the headlines. It’s also something her family is living through, and she’s worried for their lives.

Her family is in Shiraz, Iran, where communication outside of Iran has been very difficult, but she has constantly checked her phone for the occasional update from her parents. There have been a lot of airstrikes where they live.
