It’s time to consider animal welfare
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Hundreds of volunteers, veterinarians, and animal advocates will meet this weekend in Indianapolis for the 7th Annual Indiana Animal Welfare Conference.
The conference, running Friday and Saturday at Primo Event Center, is expected to draw about 300 attendees, all focused on the same goal: finding better ways to serve animal welfare and reduce pet overpopulation across the state.
“Our shelters are full, and that’s not local to any particular city — it’s across the state,” Rhi Johns, marketing and communications manager at Pet Friendly Services of Indiana, said on Daybreak. “That comes down to we have more animals than we have homes for.”
