MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — The Delaware County Health Department has released new test results from an independent laboratory, confirming Muncie’s drinking water is free of coliform bacteria and E. coli, and has acceptable chlorine levels.

The announcement came amid ongoing concerns from residents regarding the smell and taste of the city’s water.

The independent analysis was conducted after many residents reached out to I-Team 8, expressing dissatisfaction with the drinking water.

The health department submitted water samples from two homes to the independent lab. The results aimed to address the public’s complaints about the water quality.
