INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The U.S. has about 10,000 births per day, and about 32% of those births are via Cesarean section, or C-section. If that number feels high for you, you’re not alone. The World Health Organization says the acceptable rate is only 10-15%.

Preparing for before, during, and after birth is a plan a mother needs to make with her care team. However, there’s one decision that may not get as much time.
