HANCOCK CO., Ind. (WISH) — A man from Hancock County has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for drug trafficking.

Police say the charges stem from a traffic stop in July 2025 when Trooper Robert Kuhn pulled over Nathaniel Harris and found approximately 51.7 grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle.

According to police, Kohn asked Harris for consent to search his vehicle. Harris denied the request.

A K9 then conducted an open-air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle and alerted Kuhn to the front passenger door.

Officers say they found “two sealed plastic bags containing a crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine.”

Harris has been convicted on one count of dealing methamphetamine and operating a vehicle after a lifetime license forfeiture.
