Gunman caught on camera after broad daylight shooting rocks Northeast DC neighborhood

Police release surveillance video as detectives hunt suspect tied to Edgewood street shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Detectives are searching for a gunman caught on surveillance cameras after a daytime shooting in Northeast Washington left a man wounded, police said Friday.

The shooting happened around 2:26 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of Edgewood Street Northeast, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Fifth District officers responded to reports of gunfire and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived.

DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment.
