Man charged for father’s murder appears in court

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — New charges have been filed against a man prosecutors are calling a “serial rapist” after a fourth victim came forward in the midst of an ongoing investigation.

33-year-old Lorenzo Copeland has been charged with 16 counts related to sexual assaults, along with additional firearms offenses, according to a release sent Wednesday by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Six counts of raped are included in those charges.

Copeland’s initial hearing for the new charges are set for Jan. 9.
