Explosion and large fire erupt at New Castle scrapyard

NEW CASTLE, Ind. (WISH) — Firefighters on Friday morning responded to an explosion and large fire at a scrapyard south of downtown New Castle.

Photos from the New Castle Fire Department showed smoke billowing into a partly cloudy sky from Neal Scrap Metals, 1711 I Ave.

Reports of the fire came in at 8:45 a.m. Friday. No injuries were reported.
