Early morning shooting in Marion leaves 1 dead, 1 in custody

MARION, Ind. (WISH) — A man was found dead after an early morning shooting in Marion on Wednesday.

A release issued by Grant County Sherriff’s Office says police responded to a reported shooting at 100 Block of North 700 East, right off State Road 18.

Police found a male inside the home and attempted life saving efforts but were unsuccessful.

Officers made contact with a female shortly after the incident at a nearby location and took her into custody without incident.

The release was not clear as to what led to the woman’s arrest or the names of those involved.
