Driver killed in multi-vehicle crash on I-80 in Wharton, NJ as State Police seek witnesses

Wharton, NJ — A driver was killed in a chain-reaction crash involving four vehicles on Interstate 80 in Wharton, New Jersey, prompting state police to seek witnesses to the fatal collision.

The New Jersey State Police confirmed the investigation Wednesday, asking anyone who saw the crash or events leading up to it to come forward as troopers work to determine what caused the deadly incident.

The crash happened around 8:08 a.m. on April 9 along I-80 westbound at milepost 34.5 in Wharton Borough, Morris County, according to the New Jersey State Police.
