DPS confirms Trooper shot near Big Spring, flown to Lubbock for treatment

A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was shot near Big Spring and flown to Lubbock for treatment. The trooper is in stable condition and doing okay despite his injuries. The DPS Officers Association praised the trooper's courage in responding to a dangerous situation. Updates will be provided as needed.
