Competency hearing for Genesis Mata’s father postponed 2 weeks

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The competency hearing for a man accused of torturing and killing his 8-year-old daughter Genesis Mata has been postponed. The doctor examining Ray Mata Jr. requested a two-week extension to complete the competency report, according to Kern County Judge Tiffany Organ-Bowles Thursday morning.
