City Clerk says Waters 'ineligible' for re-election: What voters should know

On Saturday, Aug. 1, the Honolulu Elections Division sent out an announcement confirming that Waters could not be re-elected to the office of Councilmember, District IV, City and County of Honolulu for the 2027-2031 term.
