INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Tyrese Haliburton’s return to practice could be coming soon.
Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said Indiana All-Star is trending in the right direction as he recovers from shingles. Initially, the team was told Haliburton could return to team activities as early as after this upcoming west coast road trip, but the timetable is still up in the air.
“I know that he’s making progress. I don’t have a timetable for when he’ll be back around,” Carlisle said. “I do know that he’s doing better, feeling better, and things are going in a good direction. But it’s something that takes time.”
Haliburton was in the middle of rehabbing from Achilles surgery when contracting the virus at the end of February. Carlisle said he was “making a lot of progress on the floor before it happened with conditioning.”
“He was playing 2-on-2, 3-on-3, 4-on-4. I think he was even up to 5-on-5 with our interns and with our low-minute guys. But then something like this happens, it takes you out of being on the court and sweating and those kinds of things, so we’ll have to see how long it takes for him to catch back up.”
