Carlie Irsay-Gordon weighs in on Jonathan Taylor’s future with Colts

WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is entering the final season on his contract.

He is practicing with the team in Westfield and is not holding out for a new deal. He has expressed interest in returning to the Colts, saying he “would love to be a Colt for life.” Taylor also said there have been some good conversations and he has faith in his agent and the front office.

Colts owner and CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon also wants Taylor to remain a Colt.

“Well, I love Jonathan (Taylor),” Irsay-Gordon said. “I’m really proud of the leader that he’s become on our team. I mean, he’s one of our pillars. His picture’s on the stadium for a reason, and I would love it if he would be a Colt for life.”

Quenton Nelson is also a core Colts player that is entering the final season on his contract. There is a lot riding on this season for the Colts, with Irsay-Gordon has said the sense of urgency has never been higher. However, that does not mean the Colts are not interested in bringing back some of their cornerstone players on expiring contracts.
