Albany audit finds $2.48 million in savings amid budget deficit

On Monday, the city of Albany Office of Audit and Control announced nearly $2.48 million in savings was found in the first six months of 2026. City Auditor Sam Fein said the funds were found from errors, duplicate invoices and incorrect payments and charges.
