Nine members of the U.S. Navy and one other suspect were arrested in connection with an assault in which one victim was pistol-whipped and beaten at a house party in Jamul last year, sheriff’s officials said Wednesday.

Deputies received a report on May 3 of an assault at a home on Proctor Valley Road south of state Route 94, investigators said. While on their way to the call, deputies were told that one of the victims had gone to a fire station and was bleeding from the head and face.

The victim said they were jumped by a group of people carrying firearms, officials said. The injured person was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
