3-vehicle crash in Fort Wayne injures 4, with 2 juveniles in critical condition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A three-vehicle crash in Fort Wayne on Monday evening left four people injured, two of them being juveniles.

According to a release from the Fort Wayne Police Department, at approximately 5:19 p.m., officers responded to a car crash at the intersection of Hobson Road and Vance Avenue.

Officers arrived to find “three heavily damaged vehicles” in the intersection. Police say one car was resting on its top.

Preliminary investigation shows that one of the vehicles was traveling eastbound on Vance Avenue when it ran a red light, crashing into another vehicle that was traveling northbound on Hobson Road. The two cars then crashed into another car that was sitting at the traffic light, police say.

Four people were injured and transported to a local hospital, two being juveniles. Police say one juvenile was in life-threatening condition and the other was in critical condition.

The intersection of Hobson Road and Vance Avenue will remain closed while investigators process the scene. Police say all drivers are cooperating with the investigation.
