CHICAGO (WISH) — A man led Indiana police on a car chase into Illinois early Thursday morning, resulting in his two young children being taken to the hospital after he crashed his car and rolled it.
According to a Facebook post made by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, around 2 a.m. Thursday, an officer with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department tried to pull over a stolen SUV on northbound I-65 near 61st Street, in northwest Indiana.
The driver did not stop for police and fled, heading west on I-80/I-94 into Illinois.
According to officers, the driver crashed into a parked car near the intersection of South 115th Street and South Longwood Drive in Chicago. The car flipped onto its side and slid.
Inside the car were the 30-year-old male driver, who was not named, a 26-year-old female passenger, and their two kids, ages 3 months and 3 years.
