INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 17-year-old is being charged as an adult after a police chase on Thursday on the Indianapolis south side.

Police say three men including Zerryon Patton, of Indianapolis, refused to pull over, leading officers to an apartment complex near South Madison Avenue and Raymond Street.

Investigators say Patton then ran from the scene, and an officer reported hearing a gunshot during the pursuit.

He was later found nearby with stolen guns and a leg injury.

Police believe he may have shot himself.

The other two men were arrested.

No other charges have been announced.

Online court records show he is charged low-level felonies of resisting law enforcement, and dangerous possession of a firearm by a child. A $10,000 cash bond was set. His initial hearing was set for Friday morning in Marion Superior Court 27.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department does not publicly share jail booking photos of juveniles charged as adults.
